Domaine Gaston & Pierre Ravaut Ladoix 2022 – Ladoix

The wine has a bright pale ruby color. The nose is expressive, with smoky and meaty notes at the opening. Then, it expresses the herbaceous notes of fresh mint and blackcurrant leaf (but without green side), combined with a tangy fruity substance (red cherry, cranberries, raspberry, blackcurrant), a floral touch of lilac, as well as a spicy and roasted side (nutmeg, toasted hazelnut, toasted wood in the background, even a hint of cocoa). The palate is straight, well-built and offers juicy and ripe fruity substance, as well as fine and polished tannins. It expresses notes of ripe strawberry, crushed raspberry, juicy red cherry, roasted red cherry in the background, as well as a toasted touch (toasted hazelnut, a hint of cocoa and coffee) and spice (liquorice, a very light touch of cinnamon in the background), with a hint of roasted aromatic herbs and a good bitterness on the persistence. Good length, tangy and salivating. A gourmet and structured wine.
