Domaine du Pourra Antipode 2019 – Gigondas

(organic) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers expressive and complex scents, with a dominant balsamic aroma on the first nose. Then, we find fruity notes of crushed morello cherry, black plum (with a touch of prunes), crushed blackcurrant, roasted red cherry, red currant jam, wild strawberry and crushed raspberry, which brings flavor and freshness on the nose. We also find notes of fresh bay leaf, dried mint, rosemary, dry stone, as well as a salty mineral touch. The palate offers tangy fruits (blackcurrant, fresh black plum, morello cherry, fresh red cherry and roasted red cherry, crushed raspberry, red currant jelly), combined with menthol notes (peppermint, a touch of menthol and rosemary) and mineral (a salty and rocky point). The tannins are powerful, with a fine texture, but drying on the finish. A lively and salivating acidity, as well as tangy red fruit flavors on the finish, helps balance their dryness. A powerful, tight and concentrated wine.
