Nice elegant nose which offers a certain richness, a nice racy grain, a slight intensity as well as a certain complexity. It reveals notes of crushed strawberry, crushed blackcurrant, and more slightly notes of small fleshy fruits associated with touches of pepper, tonka bean as well as slight hints of toasted hazelnut, blond tobacco and a discreet hint of tea. The palate is fruity and offers a nice juiciness, a tangy frame, a good definition, a certain gormandize, some richness, fatness, a nice tanginess as well as energy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of tart/juicy redcurrant, tangy/juicy cherries, and more slightly – notes of crushed blackcurrant associated with touches of tangy/juicy plum as well as hints of toast, nutmeg, and chocolate. The tannins are soft and elegant. A subtle hint of good cocoa bitterness on the finish/persistence. Nice acidity and energy.
