Domaine du Bouscat – Les Portes de l’Am… 2021 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The nose is fresh and reveals a certain concentration, finesse, airiness, fine grain and complexity. There are notes of violet, pulpy/flavoured blackcurrant, cherry and, more slightly, pulpy/charny blue berries, combined with hints of fresh flowers, as well as fine hints of star anise, lilac, a subtle touch of Madagascar pepper and sweet blond tobacco. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, elegance, a nice minerality, a melodious side, thoroughness, complexity, good definition and volume. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright bigarreau cherry and more lightly fresh red berries combined with hints of fresh lily, lilac as well as a subtle hint of Espelette pepper, a discreet touch of cardamom, chocolate and toasted hazelnut. An imperceptible hint of eucalyptus on the back palate which boosts it. The tannins are racy, sapid and very discreetly tight.
