The nose is elegant, fruity and offers delicacy in its fruit as well as a nice maturity of the fruit. There are notes of crushed blackberry, pulpy blackcurrant and, more slightly, morello cherry, combined with fine touches of violet, red berries confiture, hints of star anise, cardamom and a subtle touch of camphor, black tea and grey pepper. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, freshness, good definition, gourmandise, unctuousness, a melodious side, harmony, a nice tannic structure, some tension, brilliance (of the fruit) as well as a nice ripeness (which sometimes flirts with a touch of over-ripeness, but while keeping its freshness). On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, blackberry confiture and, more slightly, bright blueberry, combined with delicate touches of crushed strawberry, lily, as well as fine hints of liquorice, tonka bean, a subtle touch of black tea and vanilla. The tannins are elegant and finely firm.
