Domaine des Terres de Velle – Les Closeaux 2016 – Auxey-Duresses 

The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers a slight concentration, a very slight power, a very slight complexity as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of fleshy strawberry associated with touches of sweet spices, toasted touches, crushed blueberry as well as a very discreet hint of cornflowers and Bourbon vanilla. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, frank and offers a good definition, juiciness, racy minerality, a beautiful finesse of the grain, a good structure as well as dynamism. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy plum, fleshy cassis and small notes of juicy cherry / raspberry combined with touches of juicy blueberry, a discreet hint of flowers, almonds as well as very discreet hints of sweet spices / nutmeg, liquorice (on the finish) and a very discreet hint of vanilla (in the background). Good length. Gourmandise on the finish. A very discreet chew on the finish. A beautiful wine !
