Domaine des Chasseignes, Les Chasseignes 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is delicate, subtly spicy and woody. It expresses notes of toasted hazelnut, fresh wood, bitter almond, heated wood in the background, as well as a touch of vanilla, crushed coriander seeds, ground cumin and nutmeg. We also find floral scents of orange blossom, acacia and linden, associated with a hint of honey and a fresh and juicy fruitiness (yellow peach, apricot, yellow plum, gooseberries) with a tangy hint of lemon zest and grapefruit. The palate is round, savoury and enveloping, with gourmandise and the juiciness of ripe stone fruits (yellow peach, apricot, yellow plum), candied lemon peel, combined with a hint of orange zest, green apple and passion fruit. We also find a sweet touch of flower honey, wax, fine spicy and woody notes (crushed coriander seeds, ground cumin, nutmeg, toasted hazelnut, aerated almond, heated wood in the background). The finish is sapid, floral and fresh. The wine offers notes of white flowers (acacia, orange blossom), good bitterness and lively acidity on the persistence. Nice energy and tension.
