Domaine de Pignan – Coralie et Floriane 2023 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

A lovely, racy, elegant, intense yet delicate nose which offers powerful control, a certain velvety and a bewitching side. Beautiful finesse and delicacy of grain in its power. It reveals notes of boysenberry, brilliant charlotte strawberry and small notes of arbutus, associated with floral touches, fresh thyme, fresh rosemary, hints of almost bright plum, as well as fine hints of star anise, almost minty, sweet tobacco and a subtle, almost vanilla-like hint. The palate is fruity, mineral and offers a fresh, tangy frame, juiciness, precision and energy. In mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy/tangy cassis, minerality, small wild cherry and small notes of cornflower, combined with touches of black olive, fine hints of local garrigue/fresh thyme, as well as hints of brilliant wild red berries, a subtle hint of almost fresh sage, balsamic and nutmeg/clove in the background. Tannins are sapid, velvety, gourmand and discreetly sappy.
