Domaine de Pignan 2023 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is elegant, aromatic, floral and offers complexity, plenitude and a certain intensity. It reveals notes of small black berries, juniper berries and fresh sage, associated with touches of fresh/ripe wild plum, as well as hints of arbutus, fresh thyme, discreet hints of small red fruits and cubeb pepper. An almost imperceptible hint of fresh zest. The palate is fruity, mineral, fresh, floral, nicely juicy and offers good energy, acidity and precision/finesse. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/tangy cassis, small wild red plums, combined with touches of fresh flowers, fresh sage, a subtle hint of almost eucalyptus, as well as fine hints of sense of the place, small bright wild red berries, toasted, tonka bean and toasted almond. Lovely toastiness and fine hints of saltiness. Floral persistence.
