The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose expresses sweet aromas of fresh and candied red and black fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, morello cherry jam, black plum, prunes, crushed strawberry). There are also notes of blackcurrant leaf, prunes in chocolate, cocoa powder, cloves, coffee, licorice, dried mint and savory notes of bouquet garni. On the palate, the attack is expressive and warming: the wine firstly expresses notes of macerated red fruits (morello cherries, cherries in kirsch, prunes in Armagnac) and candied fruits (morello cherry jam, chocolate prunes), complemented by flavors of strawberry, plum, black cherry and blackberry, as well as the spicy and herbaceous notes (licorice, clove, bitter chocolate, dried mint, dried thyme). The tannins are fine, but tight. In the finish, the wine expresses warming flavours of macerated and candied fruits, with freshness, thanks to a good level of acidity.
