The wine has a bright pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic and offers accuracy, a refreshing tanginess, as well as an expressive floral bouquet. We find notes of morello cherry, red cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, red plum, black plum and blackberry in the background, associated with menthol notes (liquorice, dried mint, pine needles, pine sap), sweet spices (cumin, clove), dark chocolate, violet, dried rose and dried thyme, as well as a delicate hint of roasting (toasted hazelnut, sweet coffee). The palate is straight, smooth and enveloping on the attack, with a good bitterness and the gourmandise of dark chocolate. It expresses notes of ripe black fruits (black plum, morello cherry, blackcurrant), crushed fresh, roasted red plum and raspberry coulis, combined with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cumin, clove), flowers (violet, dried rose), aromatic herbs (dried thyme, dried rosemary) and a hint of toasted hazelnut in the background. The tannins are structured and tight, with a fine grain. The finish is persistent and offers a good bitterness and a salivating acidity, as well as a fine gourmet touch of prunes in chocolate. Beautiful concentration, all in precision.
