Domaine de La Chézatte Cuvée Prestige 2023 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color with silver hues. The nose is powerful, very aromatic. It opens with pronounced, tangy and at the same time gourmand notes of gooseberry (fresh berries and jam), touches of passion fruit and crushed passion fruit seeds, completed by a delicate vegetal hint of green beans. Then, we smell notes of lime, green apple, grapefruit and lemon zest, complemented by scents of apple blossom and hawthorn. The minerality is perceptible, but delicate (limestone, slightly smoky). The attack is fruity and round, but the mid-palate and finish are slender and tense. We firstly smell the flavors of crushed green apple, passion fruit, gooseberries, lime and lemon zest. The vegetal note of green beans and slightly bitter grapefruit appear in the middle and at the end of the palate. Good persistence, tangy and fresh, with good bitterness and a distinguished minerality from the calcareous terroir.
