Domaine de la Bressande Mercurey Premier Cru « En Sazenay » 2022 – Mercurey Premier Cru

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers concentration of fruit, combined with smoky and roasted touches (roasted cherry, roasted meat in the background). After aeration, it expresses the dominant spicy and roasted notes (licorice, crushed black pepper, crushed coriander seeds, cloves, combined with aromas of coffee, toasted and grilled hazelnut), as well as a hint of fresh tobacco, peppermint and fresh flowers (violet, lily). The fruits on the nose are tangy and juicy – we find in particular the aromas of red cherry, raspberry, cranberries, blackcurrant, morello cherry and wild blackberry. The attack on the palate is straight, enveloping, juicy and tangy – on notes of red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, cranberries, as well as fresh blackcurrant. There is also a fine herbaceous and menthol side (peppermint, blackcurrant leaf in the background, as well as a subtle hint of menthol and pine needles in the background), sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg, crushed coriander seeds), a bitter hint of coffee, bird cherry and toasted hazelnut. Good tannic structure, firm, quite solid, with a velvety texture. The finish is sapid, concentrated and fruity, with a pleasant bitterness and a refreshing acidity.
