Domaine de la Bégude, Cuvée Amphore 2022 – Bandol

(organic) The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is juicy and concentrated, but rather reserved. Aeration opens up notes of fresh quince, candied apple, yellow peach, blood orange, a touch of candied lemon. Then, light spicy notes of nutmeg and saffron, as well as brewed tea and chamomile infusion appear, combined with a saline minerality, a touch of wax and honey. The palate is dense, but airy, with beautiful concentration and complexity. The attack is fruity and gourmand, with flavors of yellow peach, apricot, candied lemon, candied apple and grapefruit in the background. We also find brewed tea, chamomile infusion, hints of saffron and nutmeg, linden honey and a saline minerality on the persistence. The finish is gourmand and persistent, with good acidity of grapefruit.
