Domaine de Chevalier 2017 – Pessac-Léognan Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, mineral, racy, precise and well-built. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, fresh cassis and racy minerality associated with small notes of fresh raspberry as well as a hint of flowers, camphor and fine/discreet touches of spices (in the background). The palate is fruity, mineral, fresh, elegant, precise and offers juiciness, a beautiful acid frame, a fine creaminess, tension, straightness as well as a good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, crushed cassis and more slightly fleshy strawberry associated with small touches of racy minerality, ripe/fleshy red berries, chocolate, liquorice, Bourbon vanilla as well as discreet touches of rose, caramelization and toasted almond on the finish. Tannins are slightly firm. Good length.
