The wine shows a deep ruby colour with a purple hue. The nose initially shows some hints of fresh paint but with aeration opens up with notes of black pepper, nuances of black cherries, blackberries and thorn. The palate is juicy and fresh, with elevated, slightly pungent acidity. The tannins are very bold and drying. The wine is quite rustic and wild with a lot of fruit concentration balancing the warming alcohol and bold tannins. Dry, sticky, slightly green finish.
