Domaine Coudoulis – Hommage 2016 – Lirac

The nose is beautifuly aromatic, gourmand and offers concentration, richness as well as elegance. It reveals notes of vanilla, licorice, jammy redcurrants and a touch of cherry, crushed wild strawberry combined with touches of chocolate, crushed blackberry, olive as well as discreet hints of spices and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, airy, (very) slightly tight, slightly acidulous and offers a beautiful juiciness, a beautiful mineral frame, suppleness, concentration / richness (but well controlled / dosed), finesse, gourmandise, power, elegance as well as suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry and crushed redcurrants combined with small notes of blueberry, raspberry, vanilla, touches of chocolate as well as hints of caramelization, almond / hazelnut and a touch of very discreet hint of olive (in the background). Tannins are elegant, structuring and slightly firm. There are a hint of crushed hazelnut, vanilla, blueberry and a discreet / imperceptible salinity (brings gourmandise) on the persistence / aftertaste. A beautiful wine!
