Domaine Coste-Caumartin Saint-Romain, Le Clos du Château Monopole 2022 – Saint-Romain

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is textured and velvety, slightly woody and spicy. It expresses notes of fresh hazelnut, toasted wood, vanilla and nutmeg in the background, combined with notes of honey, wax in the background, linden infusion, white tea and chamomile, as well as with a vegetal hint of cucumber, the freshness of lemon, green apple, lime and Reine Claude plum. There is also a slight touch of gooseberries, white peach and tangy apricot. The palate is gourmand, with pronounced flavors of white peach and apricot, combined with tangy touches of crushed lemon, green apple and lemon. We also find woody and spicy notes (fresh wood, fresh hazelnut, nutmeg), but less pronounced than on the nose. The floral bouquet (chamomile, linden and acacia) appears at the end of the palate, on the persistence, with a slight bitterness of grapefruit. A wine which has precision, juiciness and a certain complexity, all in freshness.
