Intense brick colour. Nose of thyme, liquorice and dried fruit. The palate quickly offers a blend of plums, black cherries, currants, pepper and coffee. The whole quickly blends together on the mid-palate, with a nice iodine boost on the finish that gives it a nice liveliness. The tannins, subtle at first, also develop on the finish, offering a fine relief. This is a wine that still needs time, but which offers complexity and good potential for ageing. It should reach its peak in 4 years’ time.
