The nose is elegant, and racy and offers tension as well as a certain power. The wine beneficiates from being decanted. It reveals notes of boysenberry, small fresh/ripe red fruits, and more slightly -notes of violet, iris associated with touches of cloves, gray pepper, and discreet hints of toast. The mouth is well-built and offers a nice tangy frame, tension, straightness, energy, some fatness, a nice powdery grain as well as a good job on the bitterness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, pulpy/juicy raspberry, and more slightly – notes of tonka bean associated with touches of toasted, almond, fresh violet, cherry blossom, juicy cherry as well as discreet hints of mocha and toast. Good length. Nice persistence on the good bitterness.
