Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils – Clos des Chênes 2018 – Volnay, Premier Cru

The nose is fruity, and elegant and offers a nice brightness of fruit as well as harmony. It reveals notes of bright cherry, redcurrant, and slight notes of violet associated with touches of juicy purple plum as well as a discreet hint of lilac and a subtle almost vanilla note. The palate is fruity, nicely mineral, tense, and precise and offers harmony. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh blackberry, fresh raspberry and slight hints of fresh cherry associated with touches of lilac, fresh flowers as well as slight hints of racy minerality and a discreet hint of toast (on the finish). The tannins are supple. A slight hint of good bitterness on the finish.
