Domaine Bertrand, Pisse-Vieille 2022 – Brouilly

(organic) The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers concentration, pure fruity notes, as well as an elegant floral bouquet. It expresses the aromas of bigarreau cherry, red currant, crushed blackcurrant, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, combined with notes of wild plum, chocolate, crushed mint, as well as peony and lilac. We also find a very delicate spiciness in the background – vanilla, liquorice, nutmeg, as well as a touch of toasted hazelnut. The palate is gourmand, airy, and offers concentration and juiciness. It expresses notes of juicy red cherry, crunchy strawberry, crushed raspberry and fresh blackcurrant, combined with a delicate spiciness (vanilla, clove, liquorice), a touch of toasted hazelnut and peony in the background, The finish is quite persistent and expresses good bitterness, structured and slightly tight tannins, as well as salivating acidity and a touch of black pepper and dried red cherry.
