The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic, toasted, smoky and spicy on the opening – it initially expresses notes of toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, roasted and dried aromatic herbs (roasted thyme, dried mint), as well as smoke, nutmeg and licorice. Then there is a fresh and tangy fruity substance (red cherry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, blueberry, raspberry), as well as a mineral touch in the background. The palate offers a lively tanginess and a certain density. It expresses the flavors of tangy red cherry, cranberries, blueberry and dried blackcurrant, combined with a toasted hint (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood) with a delicate bitterness, herbaceous notes (dried blackcurrant leaf, dried mint), spicy (liquorice, grated nutmeg), as well as a floral hint of violet. Tannins are fine, cocoa-like, but slightly drying. The finish is quite persistent, with a chalky mineral structure and mouth-watering acidity, along with clean flavors of cranberry and red cherry. Good structure, which should melt with time.
