The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is warming, yet fresh, textured, with delicate spicy and floral notes. It expresses notes of fleshy fruits (wild strawberry, juicy morello cherry, raspberry coulis, red currant and a touch of wild blueberry), sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, ground cumin), fresh rose, lilac , as well as delicate touches of torrefaction (slightly toasted hazelnut). On the palate, the wine expresses good bitterness on the attack and fine-grained tannins, but grippy on the finish. We find notes of morello cherry, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, red currant jelly and crushed blueberry, associated with gourmet notes of sweet spices (liquorice, a touch of ground vanilla, nutmeg), fresh peony, dried rose and dried mint, as well as a touch of coffee and toasted hazelnut in the background. A salivating acidity helps balance a drying sensation of tannins. The finish is quite persistent, savoury and spicy.
