Demarie Roero Valmaggiore Riserva 2020 – Roero Riserva

The wine has a pale ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is savoury, aromatic, even warm. It first expresses the pronounced aromas of sweet spices (grated nutmeg, ground cumin, cardamom, liquorice, white pepper), associated with a touch of menthol (peppermint, dried pine needles) and a fresh and juicy fruity material (morello cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, red cherry juice, garnet, a hint of blackberry). The bouquet concludes with fragrant floral notes (rose, peony). The palate is juicy and enveloping, on freshness and elegance. It expresses the tangy notes of red cherry, raspberry and cranberries on the attack, associated with a sweeter hint of morello cherry, strawberry and blackberry. Then, we find notes of cocoa, cocoa nibs, dried mint, as well as an expressive spicy side (licorice, cardamom, white pepper), complemented by a touch of coffee and toasted hazelnut. Tannins have a velvety texture and a solid structure, wrapped in a salivating acidity and the juiciness of fruits on the persistence (morello cherry, crushed raspberry). Juiciness, delicacy, good length with a touch of tobacco. A wine already accessible, but which can evolve.
