Demarie Barbaresco 2022 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is perfumed and offers notes of tangy fruits as well as a subtle floral bouquet. It expresses aromas of crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, red cherry, cranberries, as well as a spicy minty hint (liquorice, cardamom, even star anise), a touch of chocolate, coffee and toasted almond. There are also notes of rose petals, peony and violet. The palate is juicy, chiseled and offers a fresh and tangy attack, with a hint of bitterness, cranberries and fine but grippytannins from the start. We also find notes of sour red cherry, raspberry, fresh cherry, a herbaceous touch (blackcurrant leaf, rose stem, a hint of bergamot tea), spicy touches (licorice, cardamom), a mineral framework (limestone, dry stone) and a fine floral bouquet (fresh rose, violet). The finish is quite persistent, tight, even closed, with a good bitterness and a smoky nuance of bergamot, a touch of dried mint, as well as a salivating acidity.
