Demarie 2021 – Barbaresco

Demarie 2021 – Barbaresco

The wine has a pale ruby color. On the nose, it expresses notes of ripe fruit, even slightly jammy. We find notes of morello cherry, crushed strawberry (even strawberry jam), juicy raspberry, crushed blueberry, black plum in the background and fresh blackberry, associated with a smoky touch, a note of fresh tobacco, mint peppery, as well as aromas of sweet spices (liquorice, white pepper, cloves in the background) and fresh flowers (rose, lilac, a slight touch of peony). The palate is juicy, fruity and straight, with a firm and vertical tannic structure and a fine, but grippy texture of tannins. It also expresses a juicy fruitiness, with a certain concentration and notes of ripe fruit (red cherry, morello cherry, strawberry, crushed raspberry, a touch of cranberries and blueberries), sweet spices (liquorice, ground cumin, nutmeg), dried herbs (dried mint, a light touch of tobacco and dry pine needles) and dried rose. The acidity is lively, salivating and helps balance the dryness of tannins, which expresses itself at the end of the palate. A tight wine, but with quite concentrated and fleshy fruitiness.
