The wine has a pale ruby color with garnet highlights. The nose is perfumed, floral and fruity, with an enveloped tertiary side. It expresses notes of crushed strawberry, macerated cherry, roasted raspberry and fresh morello cherry, combined with notes of faded flowers (faded rose, faded peony), fresh rose petals, violet, as well as wet leaves, tobacco and brewed tea in the background. After aeration, we find spices (white pepper, cumin, nutmeg and liquorice), a fine roasted touch (toasted hazelnut, coffee and cocoa in the background) and herbaceous notes (dried mint, dried rosemary). The palate is precise, airy, fluid (in a good way) on the attack, but with a solid and grippy structure of tannins. It expresses notes of dried cranberries, fresh and dried tart red cherry, raspberry and bird cherry, combined with a tertiary side (infused tea, wet leaves, tobacco), touches of spices (white pepper, nutmeg, cumin) and flowers (faded rose, faded peony). The finish is persistent, tasty, with a spicy, expressive return on liquorice, even star anise, combined with tangy and slightly bitter notes of cocoa nibs. Lots of flavors, nice acidity and a solid structure, but the wine needs to be aerated to express itself better.
