The wine shows an intense ruby colour with a garnet tinge. The nose is shy, needs some air to open up. With aeration it opens up with nuances of ripe black cherries, black olive tapenade, a hint of sun-dried tomatoes and sweet spices. The palate offers a powerful concentration, earthy, mineral character, bold and assertive tannins which stick to the gums. The wine is more savoury than fruity, notes of red berries are reverberating in the background but do not dominate. Slight bitterness on the finish.
