Cos d’Estournel 2024 – Saint-Estèphe, Cru Classé

Cos d’Estournel 2024 – Saint-Estèphe, Cru Classé

The nose is aromatically complex, it offers relief, mystery, deep aromatic and a lovely finesse/delicacy in its power. It reveals notes of boysenberry, small roasted-elegant red berries, associated with touches of violet, cornflower, camphor and small roasted-elegant red fruits, as well as a hint of concentrated blueberry and delicate infusion notes. A hint of red pepper and a very discreet touch of saffron (on the floral side) on the nose. The palate is well-built, fresh, supple, it offers good definition, gourmandise and a lovely, sustained mid-palate. It also presents relief, a 3D side and depth. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of ripe wild cassis, fairly ripe red cherry, and small notes of crushed blueberry, combined with touches of cornflower, small brilliant red berries, as well as hints of lily, cubeb pepper, a hint of infusion, iodine and graphe. A subtle, almost vanilla note and cinnamon in the background. Mellow tannins. A wine offering fleshiness, freshness and darkness/infusion in freshness. A subtle hint of sappy and saline revives the finish. A wine that offers a pretty, melted, gourmand and harmonious finish, with elegant aromatic darkness and power in accuracy.
