Corsaire de Lafitte Carcasset 2023 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose offers complexity, density, a racy minerality (gravel), but it is a bit closed. It expresses fresh fruit, but rather subtle on the nose (morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, black plum, a slight touch of wild strawberry), associated with notes of liquorice, a touch of vanilla, toast in the background, violet and peony. The palate is tight, with flavours of vanilla and toast on the attack. It expresses also notes of tangy fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant), a hint of liquorice, toast and violet. The finish is drying, with a lively and salivating acidity.
