The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is savoury and aromatic. It firstly expresses notes of smoke and roasted meat, which evolve towards sweet spices after aeration (roasted vanilla, licorice, cinnamon, nutmeg). We also find notes of ripe and dense black fruits (crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry, wild plum), red fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry jam), flowers (lily, dried cornflower, a touch of iris) and dried aromatic herbs (dried mint, rosemary). The mouth is silky and round. It offers fruity, slightly sweet (blackcurrant, crème de cassis, wild strawberry, raspberry jam), spicy (cinnamon, vanilla, licorice), chocolate (cocoa, dark chocolate) and floral (violet, fresh cornflower) notes. The tannins are melted, velvety and very fine, while providing a beautiful structure to the wine. The finish is persistent, sweet and chocolatey, refreshed by a touch of chocolate mint and a round, but fresh acidity.
