The nose is fruity, racy and discreetly tight. It deserves to be decanted. There are notes of ripe boysenberry, ripe wild strawberry and more slightly of wild red berries combined with hints of vanilla, spice, nutmeg as well as fine peppery notes and a gravelly finish. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, crunchiness, fruit, sapidity and a racy/gravelly minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, crushed currants and more slightly juicy/pulpy blackberry combined with touches of crunchy red berries, iodine minerality and fine points of cardamom, cinnamon and a subtle almost peppery edge. The tannins are well-managed. A certain suppleness on the finish. Fine salinity and a discreet, positive bitterness on the finish.
