Conde de Anadia Reserva 2017 – Dão

Conde de Anadia Reserva 2017 – Dão

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is expressive and complex. It first offers tertiary notes of tobacco, fallen leaves, wilted rose, hay and leather, associated with a touch of dried mushrooms, which combine with notes of roasted aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni) , sage in the background, dried peppermint and eucalyptus. We then find spicy aromas (liquorice, a hint of star anise, nutmeg, cloves), roasted meat, as well as a concentrated fruity substance (notes of roasted red cherry, morello cherry, prunes, blackcurrant). crushed, black plum and red plum). The palate in the attack expresses tertiary notes of wet leaves, wilted rose, wax in the background and dried mushrooms (with a touch of umami), then associated with notes of sweet spices (ground cumin, nutmeg, cloves, liquorice), torrefaction (toasted almond, toasted wood) and ripe fruit (fresh morello cherry, morello cherry in chocolate, fresh red cherry, roasted red cherry, black plum, prunes, crushed strawberry). The tannins are enveloping, even voluminous, velvety and silky, with a very fine texture. The finish is sapid, gourmand and chocolaty, with a salivating acidity and a good persistence on notes of morello cherry in chocolate, a tertiary touch of wet leaves and a spicy hint of cumin. A complex, refined, robust and airy wine at the same time, with great finesse and a high level of alcohol, well integrated and refreshed by a salivating acidity.
