Clos Saint Sebastien, Le Clos 2020 – Coullioure

Clos Saint Sebastien, Le Clos 2020 – Coullioure

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant, gourmand and complex. The first nose expresses notes of fresh tobacco, leather, faded rose, prunes and dark chocolate, associated with the second nose with distinguished minerality (salinity, slightly iodized), spicy notes (licorice, cardamom, a hint fennel seeds), torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, coffee), wild flowers and Mediterranean herbs (bay leaf, dried sage, thyme), envalopped in a juicy fruity substance (black plum, prunes, chocolate morello cherry, fresh morello cherry , wild strawberry, crushed blueberry) as well as a sweet touch of red cherry and strawberry jam. The palate is expressive and tasty. It expresses the flavors of morello cherry in chocolate (especially in the attack), strawberry jam, black plum, chocolate prunes, raspberry coulis, fresh wild strawberry, a touch of chocolate prunes, combined with notes aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni, dried sage, a hint of fresh bay leaf and menthol), dried rose, dark chocolate, torrefaction (toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, coffee, slightly more pronounced than on the nose) . The finish is persistent and sapid – we find notes of tobacco and leather, and a touch of bitter cocoa. The tannins are firm, but velvety, with a fine grain. Good persistence and acidity, the alcohol is fairly well integrated.
