The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is subtle and delicately perfumed. It firstly expresses mineral (saline, even iodine) and herbaceous notes (fresh bay leaf, fresh thyme, a touch of sage, garrigue), associated on the second nose with notes of morello cherry, fresh red plum, crushed blackcurrant, garriguette strawberry, crushed raspberry, as well as spicy hints (liquorice, even star anise, nutmeg) and resinous touches (pine sap, balsamic). The palate has a dense attack, a deep texture, but in the middle and at the end of the palate, there is freshness and an airiness. We find notes of fresh morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, fresh strawberry, crushed raspberry and black plum, as well as touches of fresh bay leaf, bouquet garni, garrigue, dried wild flowers, a powdery touch of cocoa, as well as a slightly drying minerality(limestone, saline especially in the finish). The finish is quite persistent, expressing the warming side of alcohol and dry tannins, counterbalanced by a salivating acidity. A straight and structured wine.
