The nose is elegant and racy. We find notes of graphite, pulpy blackberry, sense of place (local biotope, fresh) and more slightly – small creamy black fruits associated with touches of graphite, gray pepper as well as a discreet hint of small roasted fruit, chocolate and an imperceptible hint of vanilla (in the background). The palate is fruity, fresh, balanced and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, good work on the good bitters, lots of delicacy, smoothness as well as a certain concentration/density but all in balance/correctness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blackcurrant, pulpy Boysenberry and more slightly fleshy strawberry associated with touches of small blue fruits as well as hints of star anise, sap, camphor and a subtle hint of torrefaction. The tannins are soft. Lovely freshness and an airy side in its richness/creaminess. A subtle, almost Mediterranean barrier hint in the background.
