The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is discreet and requires aeration. It then expresses notes of morello cherry, tart red cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry, black plum and bird cherry, combined with delicate spicy notes (nutmeg, liquorice, a slight hint of vanilla), a smoky, woody touch (toasted hazelnut), minty and floral notes (cornflower, a touch of faded rose). The palate offers roundness, gourmandise and ripe and jammy fruits, even slightly sweet. We find in particular the flavors of crushed wild strawberry, blackcurrant jam, fresh black plum with a touch of prune cream, raspberry coulis, juicy morello cherry and blackberry, combined with a touch of chocolate morello cherry, chocolate with mint, liquorice, nutmeg, vanilla, a hint of cinnamon in the background, as well as a touch of torrefaction (toasted, even caramelized hazelnut, toasted wood in the background) and peony. The finish is quite persistent, gourmand, with good bitterness and a supple, but balancing acidity. Roundness and sapidity, with silky tannins.
