Clos Fourtet 2024 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Clos Fourtet 2024 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Very pretty nose, elegant, airy, racy, frank, deep and fine at the same time, it also offers a velvety and pretty infusion side. It reveals notes of boysenberry, violet and, more lightly, bright/brilliant redcurrant, associated with touches of brilliant cassis, as well as fine hints of lilac, red pepper, an almost petal-like hint of sweet rose, and a hint of licorice stick and anise. The nose is nicely complex, with a sexy, enveloping side typical of Cabernet Franc. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh, mineral, elegant, airy and delicate, with a lovely freshness in its silkiness. It offers a good, frank, racy, precise and delicate structure, with a melodious, airy side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy cassis, pulpy raspberry, and more lightly cornflower, combined with touches of brilliant redcurrant, as well as fine hints of conrflower and small red fruits flirting with fresh roast. Beautiful complexity and elegance. Floral finish. Good length. The tannins are precise, mellow, racy and chalky. Good definition with a tangy finish and freshness. A harmonious wine, with good energy.
