Clos Fourtet 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Clos Fourtet 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Lovely elegant nose, complex, precise, fresh and which offers tension, depth, a lovely touch of lace as well as power and subtlety at the same time. We find notes of boysenberry, pulpy blackcurrant and small notes of bright blue berries associated with touches of cornflower, star anise, sweet blond tobacco as well as discreet hints of almond and sweet pepper. A very delicate nose which blossoms, opens slowly in the glass. A beautiful intensity in finesse. The palate is nicely led, chiseled, fresh, mineral, brilliant and offers a nice definition as well as depth. All in accuracy and suppleness. Beautiful brilliance / shine of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy Bigarreau cherry, violet and small notes of bright blackcurrant associated with touches of bright blue plum, liquorice stick as well as hints of infusion, cocoa, toast, a subtle hint of fresh tobacco (in the background), Bourbon vanilla and grilled almond. Elegance as well as a graphite/chalky side in the tannins. Lovely finish all in accuracy and delicacy. Tannic load but all in finesse. A subtle chew on the persistence.
