Clos Fourtet 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Premier Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, elegant, chiseled, precise and offers a nice multi-layered side, a very nice complexity as well as precision. Great mastery! It reveals notes of boysenberry, bright wild strawberry and small notes of small pulpy/bright fruits associated with touches of blackberry as well as fine hints of blond tobacco and graphene.  The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, elegant, gourmand with a tangy structure. We have juiciness, smoothness, it is nicely crafted with accuracy and depth. The grain is chiseled, racy and nicely marked by its terroir. We have some good bitters in the background. We have notes of fresh juicy blackcurrant, bright purple plum and small notes of Blueberries associated with touches of fresh blueberries, bright raspberries and small notes of graphite associated with a subtle hint of juicy roast as well as discreet sappy hints caramel, toast, blond tobacco and a hint of caramelization and toasted almonds. Tannins are elegant, mellow and distinguished. There is a very nice freshness and a nice mellow, appetizing and sapid finish. The wine is supple with elegance and has an airy side in its power. There is a nice persistence on limestone, good bitterness and tanginess of the fruit.
