The nose is elegant, nicely controlled and reveals a certain racy power (and finesse), complexity and depth. The wine is marked by its terroir, We find notes of pulpy/flavoured cherry, pulpy/sour wild blackberry and more lightly red berry fruit combined with fine touches of lily, blueberry, delicate hints of star anise, sense of place (Mediterranean barrier) and a discreet touch of vanilla and pepper. The palate is fruity, fresh, elegant and reveals a nice definition, a nice brightness and purity of fruit, an airy character, sincerity, a nice balance and a very nice acidity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/acidic cherry, raspberry and more slightly juicy/acidic blackcurrant combined with a touch of fresh/acidic blueberry as well as fine hints of chocolate, star anise as well as a subtle hint of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of almost roasted fruit in the background. The tannins are elegant, chalky and fresh. A fine touch of graphite in the background.
