Clos du Val – Estate Pinot Noir 2014 – Block 73 Carneros – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, fine and offers a fine concentration. It reveals notes of ripe strawberry, small notes of cherry and a hint of wild strawberry associated with touches of raspberry, licorice as well as a discreet hint of flower and a very discreet wood hint. The palate is fruity, silky, suave, relatively fleshy and offers minerality, an acid frame, fat and a nice volume. On the palate this wine expresses notes of raspberry jam, cherry and touches of wild strawberry associated with a hint of juicy Quetsche plum as well as discreet hints of Zan and sweet spices. Tannins are fine, well-built and supple. Good length.
