Clos du Roi « Chanvan » 2021 – Bourgogne Coulanges La Vineuse

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers a beautiful aromatic expression, which combines savoury notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice, cloves), refreshing herbaceous hints (fresh mint, a very subtle touch of tomato leaf), notes of tart fruits (bigarreau cherry, raspberry, elderberry, cranberries, red currants) with a touch of roasted red cherry, roasted aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni), smoke, dried rose, fresh tobacco and toasted hazelnut in the background . On the palate, the wine offers an airy and juicy fruitiness: it expresses notes of bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, crushed strawberry, roasted red cherry, red currants, as well as a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, black pepper in the background), a touch of aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni, dried mint) and flowers (dried rose, dried peony). The finish is quite persistent, savoury and peppery. Beautiful salivating acidity, the tannins are velvety and melted. A refined but expressive wine, concentrated and fresh.
