Clos des Jacobins 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Clos des Jacobins 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is beautifully complex, precise and offers depth, a certain intensity as well as an infusion side. A fairly ripe and deep fruit. We find notes of boysenberry, juicy roasted wild strawberry and small notes of morello cherry associated with touches of lily, sense of place (local biotope), fine hints of star anise, camphor, graphite as well as discreet hints of Cubeb pepper, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint almost of black tea (in the background). The palate is beautifully juicy, fruity, mineral, balanced, beautifully stretched and offers a tangy frame, accuracy, tension, good definition, delicacy, straightness as well as depth. Delicacy and race in its power. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy black cherry, pulpy blackcurrant and slight notes of infusion associated with touches of spices, juicy roasted berries and pepper. The tannins are sapid, gourmand, tasty, fresh and elegant. Nicely stretched on the finish. A subtle hint of good bitterness on the retro.
