Clos des Jacobins 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic and offers a very beautiful freshness. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, small fresh wild fruits and slight notes of coffee, bitter dark chocolate associated with discreet hints of fresh strawberry as well as a subtle hint of licorice, slight notes of sweet spices and a very discreet hint of cardamom. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a very beautiful freshness, a beautiful mineral frame, a slight tension, a good finesse, a very slight unctuosity, a beautiful structure as well as fat. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh boysenberry, cassis and a discreet hint of raspberry, red berries associated with slight notes of dark chocolate and coffee on the finish. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and good persistence. The finish is slightly gourmande. Beautiful potential! (2022-2035)
