The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fragrant, discreetly spicy and toasted. It expresses notes of fresh red cherry, a touch of morello cherry, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis and redcurrant jelly, combined with a refreshing aroma of wild mint, a fine spiciness (liquorice, coriander seeds, a hint of nutmeg and white pepper in the background) and floral (rose, peony, lily), as well as a delicate touch of toasted hazelnut in the background. The palate is savoury and expressive, slightly bitter (good bitterness) and tight (the tannins have a fine grain, but grippy on the attack). We find the flavors of crushed strawberries, morello cherries, fresh raspberries and redcurrant jelly, combined with a herbaceous touch (fresh tobacco, dried mint) and spicy notes (nutmeg, coriander seeds, liquorice). The finish is savory, spicy, chocolatey and slightly toasted (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood in the background). Beautiful acidity, which balances a slightly dry tannin structure at the end of the palate. Good balance and gourmandise.
