Clément & Florian Berthier «Les Chasseignes» 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is fleshy and gourmand, with concentration and juicy fruit. It expresses notes of fresh exotic fruits (pineapple, passion fruit) and stone fruits (apricot, white peach) at the opening, which are then complemented by aromas of ripe yellow lemon, grapefruit and green apple. There are also aromas of gooseberries, a hint of lime and smoke, as well as dried linden and acacia. The palate is juicy and luscious, even sweet; the attack offers notes of vanilla, yellow peach, apricot, candied lemon, passion fruit and pineapple. Then there is the tangy and bitter side of grapefruit and lime, as well as a mineral, limestone and smoky frame and floral notes (dried linden, acacia). The finish is concentrated, tangy and fruity, persistent and slightly bitter and honeyed. An expressive and balanced wine.
