The nose is fruity and offers elegance, complexity and a fine spiciness. There are notes of wild blackberry, pepper and, to a lesser extent, violet, combined with hints of morello cherry, star anise, delicate hints of blueberry and a subtle hint of Madagascar pepper and cinnamon. The palate is fat and round, offering freshness, minerality, good definition, tension, accuracy and a tangy structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, tart wild raspberry and more slightly blueberry/lys combined with hints of cardamom, bergamot, toastiness and a subtle hint of almost star anise and toasted almond. The tannins are precise, racy and structured.
