Château Valandraud 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé B

Château Valandraud 2023 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé B

A lovely elegant nose, precisely concentrated, with a certain depth and intensity, a lovely multi-layered side. It expresses notes of ripe/pulpy wild blackcurrant, pulpy black plum and more lightly – blueberry associated with fine touches of camphor, small roasted-juicy red chips as well as fine hints of star anise, lily and has a subtle hint of fresh toast and an imperceptible hint of roasting. The palate is beautifully soft, fresh, juicy, tasty and offers delicacy, a tangy frame, a lovely softness in the middle of the palate, freshness, density, delicacy, a tangy frame and sapidity. A lovely multi-layered side and a hint almost macerated in precision. It expresses notes of blackberry, pulpy/juicy blackcurrant and more lightly – small fleshy fruits, associated with touches of dark chocolate, star anise, bourbon vanilla as well as fine hints of flowers, infusion and a discreet hint of roasting, graphite and a hint of toasted hazelnut and a subtle almost Mediterranean hint in the fruit. Soft, gourmet tannins. A lovely wine, nicely sapid and tasty on the finish.
